Kiana Dyer
Kiana started dancing at the age 3 and hasn’t stopped since. From the moment she took her first class Tiny Ballerina class, there has been no stopping her excitement and love for dance.
Over the years, Kiana had the chance to train in a number of genres but found a love for contemporary, lyrical and acro. As an acrobat, she trained under the renowned Aldeana Bawtinheimer of Aldeanas Acrobats, where she learned & trained at an advanced level that gave her immense knowledge & passion for the style.
She has had the opportunity to train & compete with some of the top choreographers and dancers across North America at world-renowned studios & conventions such as Jump, Hollywood Vibe & The Edge Performing Arts Centre in LA.In 2017 & 2019, Kiana had the opportunity to compete with the Canadian National Team in Germany & Poland at the International Dance Organizations (IDO) World Championships in Showdance & Contemporary. This incredible experience gave her the chance to work with top Canadian choreographers and also experience the caliber of dance other countries have to offer.
Kiana began assisting younger competitive & recreational classes at 13 & by 17, she began creating solos for herself as well as teaching the teen recreational program at her studio. Since then, Kiana has worked as a recreational & competitive dance teacher for studios & cities across the Tri-Cities. She is currently the main dance teacher for the City of Pitt Meadows, where she has created new programs for dancers aged 2+. She is currently working towards gaining her certificate in Acrobatic Arts Module 1 & the IDTS Level 1.
Some of Kiana’s favourite moments in her dance career so far include placing 7th & 5th at the IDO World Championships, winning top Student Jazz & Lyrical Choreographer at the Surrey Festival of Dance and completing the entirety of the CDTA Jazz Examinations with Honours.
Kiana is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of dance and passing on the dedication & passion that she learned to the next generation in a space where everyone who walks through the door feels welcomed & supported.
